Description

The Conductor Head — also known as a leader head or collector box — is a decorative and functional sheet metal fitting that connects your roof drainage system to the downspout. Traditionally installed under the soffit, conductor heads let air into the drainage line, preventing vacuum lock and reducing excess noise (gurgling).

Décor Architectural Products has been fabricating custom conductor heads for commercial, municipal, and residential projects for over 35 years. Available in aluminum, copper, and galvalume/steel, each head is made to order and crafted to match your building’s architectural style.

What Is a Conductor Head?

A conductor head — also called a leader head or collector box — is a decorative metal fitting installed where your gutter or scupper connects to the downspout. It catches water from the roof drainage system and funnels it into the downspout below.

Traditionally installed under the soffit, conductor heads allow air into the drainage line. This prevents vacuum lock, reduces gurgling noise, and protects the building's drainage system. They're also used for through-wall scuppers and roof drains.

Beyond their functional role, conductor heads are a classic architectural accent — adding a finished, professional look to any building's exterior.
